About Us
DRCC dba Literacy Ministries is a Christian non-profit organization with a mission to provide marginalized children in Zimbabwe access to quality Christian education. Our goal is to shape minds, cultivate hearts, and promote servant leadership by teaching the Lord’s way. Through education rooted in faith, we seek to empower students to become leaders who serve their communities with love, compassion, and wisdom.
Since our mission school began in 2016, Literacy Ministries has grown to serve 350 high school students (Forms 1 to 4) in the Gokwe district of Zimbabwe’s Midlands province. These students, many of whom have faced significant challenges, are receiving an education that not only equips them with academic skills but also prepares them for future work, higher education, and a life of service.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide Christian education to all Selima Secondary School students in Zimbabwe and equip them with life skills for further education, work, and service through sound teaching and learning.
Our Vision
To develop students who are truly salt and light, representing Jesus in the world. Many of the students had never seen electricity, running water, or a structured school before attending. We are working to change that by showing God’s love through education and opportunities.

Our goal is to uplift marginalized communities by giving children the tools to succeed, empowering them to become future disciples and leaders.
Perseverance
We are committed to overcoming obstacles in providing education to children in remote areas. Even when things seemed impossible, we believed in God’s greater plan for the mission.

Our Team
Jacob Nhenga
Founder and Director of Literacy Ministries, Jacob’s vision for the school was born from his own experience growing up in Zimbabwe. Despite many hardships, he became the first in his family to attend school and university, thanks to the generosity of others. His desire to give back to children in underserved communities is the driving force behind Literacy Ministries. Jacob’s leadership continues to shape the mission, ensuring that each student receives a holistic, faith-based education.
Munya
Munya is the local leader on the ground in Zimbabwe, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school. He has been a vital part of the school’s development from its earliest days, helping to turn a vision into reality. Munya’s deep connection with the community and his commitment to the students make him a cornerstone of Literacy Ministries.

Our mission school is located in the Gokwe district of Zimbabwe’s Midlands province, a rural area where many children have limited access to quality education. The school serves as a beacon of hope, providing not only academic knowledge but also spiritual guidance rooted in Christian faith. The location was chosen because of the significant need in the region, and we are dedicated to serving the community by offering students a pathway to a brighter future through education and faith.
